Whatever the mind can conceive and believe; the mind and body are able to do.
The main reason young Filipino engineers, like us do not reach our full potential is because we fail to take simple and consistent action to step closer to our goals and ultimate dreams. We continue to hold on to the limiting beliefs that our senior engineers or superiors or co-engineers or other people have instilled in us.
In order for us to realize our goals and have, the audacity to keep our young career moving forward, it is very important that we practice saying positive powerful affirmations to achieve day-to-day improvement and success in our life.
Every time we utter powerful positive affirmations, it sends an encouraging message to our subconscious mind. This can help invite wealth, good well-being and advanced status in our engineering career. Thought is a very powerful thing, it sparks an idea – and that idea will manifest itself into something in actuality.
With this, we should be more mindful and cautious about the thoughts we put into our minds. If we allow our minds and thoughts to run free without any form of categorization is destructive. We may end up manifesting the things that we do not want into our careers and lives.
Many affirmations are very negative, which generally leads us to low self-esteem in performing our job and bad decision making in our projects and routine work activities.
That is the very reason why we need to use POSITIVE AFFIRMATIONS. These simple yet influential statements takeover our minds in impactful ways.
The following are the MOST POWERFUL AFFIRMATIONS that we can use to improve our young engineering career.
Let us improve our career status with these affirmations.
Since most of us are just in our early stages of our engineering careers, these 6 words are very powerful because of the way they make us feel. Upgrade this affirmation by appending a reason to it – “I am an awesome Filipino Engineer because…”
One pattern would be “I am an awesome Filipino Engineer because I’m taking engagements every day to make myself and my career enhanced”. We may go as detailed as we need to be, especially if there is something in particular that makes us feel awesome.
This affirmation might seem difficult for most Filipino Engineers. In general, we are nice to our co-workers, to people around us. Simply put, we are kind and good-hearted.
Nevertheless, when it comes to ourselves, we are the harshest critic. In order to improve our career, we must learn to be kind to ourselves. With this in mind, let us be less judgmental and more loving towards ourselves, and then we will gradually see our life improves positively.
Think of the things and people you really love, how long the list would go before you named yourself?
Let me ask you a question. Would you want your engineering career be successful and ultimately have happiness? Of course, we want that happiness. I am also sure that no engineer goes around saying he/she wants a miserable career and miserable life. Well, you might THINK it because of your current environment. It may appear obvious and trite, but many young Filipino engineers have stopped to think through that happiness is our BIRTHRIGHT.
Dear engineer, we do not have to earn happiness or demonstrate our value; we are worthy and we deserve to be happy right here, right now. Here is a fact; happiness is a basic human right.
In order to be able to achieve true success in our young careers, we must be able to accept from the bottom of our hearts (or even in the depths of our minds) that we are a work in progress. No Pinoy engineer achieves success overnight.
You cannot master all designs or project parameters in a day, or finish that critical maintenance module overnight. Every major success as an engineer takes time and effort to achieve.
Rather than chase the mirage of overnight success, calm down, dig in and do the work.

For my entire career, I thought I was not worthy of numerous things in this world, and I especially did not think I was worthy of reaching my goals as an engineer. Ano ang dahilan bakit hindi ko nakakamit ang mga goals ko? It is because of my previous negative affirmation, which I thought I am not good enough.
I want each young pinoy engineers to do the work to change your mindset and see that you are worthy of reaching your goals. You must believe that you are worthy to be successful and reach your dreams.
In addition, we also ask ourselves these questions frequently: “What might prevent us from achieving our goals?” Then “How could I work around this?”
Often, the only obstacle between you and a better engineering career is merely giving yourself a permission slip to be who you truly are destined to be.
Do you ever catch yourself saying, “I cannot do that…” and reason being is that your boss or someone else would not like it or allow you to? Take control of your career. Give yourself permission sa mga bagay na makakabuti sa iyo.
If you were not giving permission for yourself to do so, you would have to wait a prolonged time before somebody else comes along to grant you that permission. Worse, they would make you do what is right for THEM. Other people can have their opinions. You, young engineer, get to have yourself, your career, and your life.
You got a promotion at work. Who will be very proud of you? Your spouse? Si mommy or si daddy ba? Very nice but not GREAT. YOU should be proud of yourself. YES, the very first person to celebrate your career success, no matter how small, should be YOU.
It does not matter how small the achievement may seem to anyone, all that matter is how important it is to you. Celebrate and be proud of yourself.
The whole world revolves around rules, from the time we were born; the world has set its expectations on us. Parents, teachers, and bosses – they seemed to endlessly enforce rules upon us. Pero walang nagsabi sa atin o nagturo sa atin na mag set ng ating rules.
In order to achieve great success and the career you dream of, you must learn to break free from that. Set your own boundaries; establish your own rules in your career.
What personal and professional rules do you live by?
Totoo ba? Young pinoy engineers are impatient people. And the world is developing at a pace that leaves everyone breathless.
We have come to accept that whatever we want should be served on a platter on demand – Grab, Food Panda, Netflix, etc. We became blind to something crucial in the journey of success, which is PATIENCE.
You must TRUST that whatever you need, no matter how desperately you need it, will come to you at the right time. Yes, at the exact moment that is right.
I hope that you will use consistently the affirmations that I have shared with you. We must always protect our minds from the onslaught of negative thoughts to advance our careers.
I am sure kilala mo ang mga Wright Brothers. They believed in their flying machine when others despised it and said it was impossible. Now millions are flying in airplanes today. Definitely, it took greater than belief to invent the airplane. Ang sekretong ingredient ay ACTION, kilala din as WORK.
Start with these powerful affirmations, then believe and finally take massive actions.
In the Holy Bible: Matthew 17:20 - If you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,” and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.
Indeed, dear engineer, NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE FOR YOU and ME.
Goodluck kapatid sa inyong career bilang isang inhinyero. Mabuhay ka!
Ang career ng inhinyenro ay parang Adidas at Nike, isipin lang na “Nothing is impossible” kaya “Just Do It.”
